Important information about HS2: last chance to come and hear more, Mon 27th 7:30pm at Village Hall

T  The HS2 Phase 2 Route Consultation closes at 5pm Friday 31st. Come and hear more about the impact on Lymm and Warrington at our public meeting tomorrow night (Mon 27th), 7:30pm at the Village Hall

If you have ANY interest the economy, transport or green issues then read this presentation by Chris Stokes, a highly respected railway strategist and advisor. To see his presentation click on Huddersfield 15.11.13. This easy to read set of slides make a compelling case that HS2 is neither value for money nor ‘green’ and that there are cheaper and quicker approaches to rail capacity. (Also see for more from an alliance of local councils nationally supporting alternatives to HS2).

Here is a standard response produced by a local group of residents ‘ABLEtostopHS2’ (High Speed 2 Phase 2 Route Consultation ABLEtostop response) – which you can use in whole or in part if you wish as the basis of your response to the consultation. If you do choose to use this standard response it is important to personalise your response in order to make it relevant to your particular area, and for maximum effect when the responses are analysed. You must also add your personal info (name, address, and postcode) where the blanks are, otherwise it won’t count. Don’t forget that every member of each household is entitled to send a response – it is not age restricted, and we would encourage you to send it on to friends and family for them to submit and recirculate.

Then by 5pm on 31st Jan email your response to:

or post it (NO STAMP REQUIRED) to:
