Over the 5 years we’ve been in existence LCL has continued to grow and change like all groups do, and we’re proud of what, with your help, we’ve achieved.
As we continue to evolve, two new social enterprises are in the process of forming out of LCL activities: a Community Interest Company (or ‘CIC’) for The Friends of Spud Wood; and an Industrial Provident Society (or ‘IPS’) called Lymm Community Energy to encourage local investment in renewable energy for community buildings in the Village. And our Local Food group colleagues are really motoring too with their own totally wonderful blog (go on, have a read, I bet it’ll make you smile) and other activities.
So, as these entities form Low Carbon Lymm is becoming more of an umbrella forum for related low carbon activities in the Village. And in line with this we’re changing from monthly to new style quarterly meetings to allow space for other work whilst still allowing us to share and collaborate together.
So, the long and short of it is, there’s lots of great stuff in the pipeline and we’d love you to get involved; whether it’s by buying shares in Lymm Community Energy when it’s launched; by getting involved with the wood allotments, by volunteering a little of your time to help us, or just by doing your bit to shop local and remembering to turn off the lights!
To find out more about all of the above come and have a chat at one of our new style quarterly meetings. If you’re thinking of coming but aren’t quite sure then drop us a line via email@example.com or call me on 07786074741 and we can make sure you’re expected and welcomed. And as ever check us out at www.lowcarbonlymm.org.uk
Our 2015 meetings are scheduled for: January (12th), April (13th), July (13th) and October (12th).
Looking forward to seeing you soon, Zoe
